Police are stepping up patrols at a former school after reports of trespassers on the grounds.
Officers from the Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team will be patrolling the area around the old Taxal Lodge School, in Whaley Bridge, after receiving reports from residents of groups of youths trespassing on the site in Ling Langs Lane.
The building has been left derelict for a number of years and has previously been fire damaged.
PCSO Tracy Jones said: “Our main concern is for the safety of those who are trespassing at the site as these children could be putting themselves at risk.
“I would like to urge anyone who is thinking of visiting the site, from Whaley Bridge and surrounding towns, to stay away. Not only are they putting their safety at risk but they are also causing a nuisance to people living close to the school.
“We will be carrying out patrols in the area and will be on the lookout for anyone seen to be entering the grounds or taking part in anti-social behaviour to help keep our community safe.”
If you see anyone trespassing on the Taxal Lodge grounds or if you want to report incidents of anti-social behaviour or crime, call Derbyshire police on 101.
