A PASTEL painting of Hayfield donated by a local artist is to be raffled to raise money for the village cricket club.

Artist Brian Nolan, who has previously lived in Hayfield, and has exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, has kindly donated a painting showing Hayfield Church which will be raffled to raise money for extra coaching at the cricket club.

Tickets are priced at £10 and all proceeds will help the girls and ladies teams, as well as the under-11 boys team, with their coaching.

Hayfield Cricket Club chairman Ed Yardley said: “We’d like to thank Brian for his enormous generosity in donating this painting to help support the club.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone to acquire a fantastic painting by a local artist.”

The raffle will be drawn at the cricket club on November 11 and tickets will be available right up until the draw is made.

Tickets are also available to buy from the art marquee at this weekend’s Hayfield Sheepdog Trials. Alternatively, they can be bought from the cricket club or by contacting Ed on 01663 746805 or emailing edwardyardley@btinternet.com.

The painting will be available to view at various locations in Hayfield throughout September and October.
