The miniature train at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens is set to reopen next week after a period of maintenance.
Located at the centre of the Grade II listed visitor attraction, the popular miniature railway takes visitors young and old on a circular tour of the gardens.
The train usually operates during the school holidays and at weekends, but has been out of action for months.
However High Peak Borough Council has said the train is expected to be back up and running next week.
Special fabricated brake blocks have been delivered and are now waiting to be fitted, a spokesperson added.
The ride costs £1 per person for two circuits, with under-threes free.
