A CHARITY walk for a children’s hospice will have to be cancelled unless around 20 volunteers sign up to help out on the day.
The warning was issued by High Peak Borough Council community sports development officer Paul Evans, organiser of the eight-mile trek for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice on Saturday, April 23.
Volunteers are urgently needed to act as marshals and to install and dismantle signage, and the event may have to be scrapped unless enough people have come forward by next Friday, April 1.
Anyone able to help out in and around Buxton from around 10am to 12noon on the day should call Paul on 07880 882668 or email email@example.com.
Organised as part of High Peak Walking Festival, the hike will start in the Pavilion Gardens at 10.30am and follow a circular route that will take in Burbage and the old railway line, ending at around 11.45am.
Bluebell Wood cares for children and young adults with shortened life expectancy.
