A stretch of the A6 will be reduced to one lane near Chapel-en-le-Frith from Monday while Derbyshire County Council assesses the condition of the embankment.

Engineers will be on-site from Monday to carry out a detailed inspection and land survey of the bank to help find a permanent solution to prevent rocks falling into the road.

The 300 metre stretch of road is expected to be reduced to one lane at Barmoor Clough until Friday.

Councillor Dean Collins, Derbyshire County Council’s deputy cabinet member for jobs, economy and transport, said: “This is essential work to help improve safety on the road and we would urge drivers to bear with us while these inspections are carried out.”
