The new owners of Buxton’s Palace Hotel have revealed their intention to restore the property “to its true former glory”.

As reported last week, the 122-bedroom, Grade II Listed Palace Hotel is one of two new acquisitions by Britannia Hotels Ltd. The property, on Station Road, was put up for sale by The Hotel Collection in November, with a £7 million price tag.

Alex Langsam, Managing Director of Britannia Hotels, expressed his delight at the purchase of the Palace Hotel, alongside other new acquisition the Basingstoke Country Hotel.

“We look forward to lavishing time and attention on The Palace Hotel to restore it to its true former glory,” he added. “I am proud of Britannia’s track record in sympathetically restoring heritage properties across the UK and providing hospitality to our guests.”

Both hotels were reported to have attracted “significant interest” from a variety of potential purchasers, including investors and established multiple operators.
