New Mayor for the High Peak elected

TINTWISTLE councillor Pat Jenner has been elected as the new Mayor of the High Peak.

Cllr Jenner was elected at the annual meeting of High Peak Borough Council on Tuesday night and takes over from Cllr David Lomax, who has been Mayor for the last year.

Taking on the role, Cllr Jenner thanked Cllrs Fiona Sloman and Colin Waude who proposed and seconded him for the role and said: “I hope to do my role as Mayor of the borough and chair of the council to the best of my abilities. I hope your trust in me will be fulfilled at the end of my period in office.”

Buxton Cllr Tony Kemp has been appointed as Deputy Mayor.
