High Peak Community Arts has unveiled a series of eight felted wall panels, inspired by children’s book ‘Blue John’.

The panels, which were made as part of the group’s wellbeing programme, were unveiled on Wednesday, September 30.

They have been especially created for Buxton Library, as part of the ‘Made in Derbyshire’ celebrations this year.

Alison Bowry, Project Co-ordinator explained: “We chose the children’s book, ‘Blue John’ as Blue John is only to be found in Derbyshire, and its author, Berlie Doherty lives here. We also loved the story and were inspired by Tim Clarey’s beautiful illustrations.”

Author, Berlie Doherty, attended the celebratory event, as well as Mayor of the High Peak, Coun Stewart Young, and Vice Chair of Derbyshire County Council, Coun Janet Hill.
