Chapel-en-le-Frith’s long-awaited Aldi store will be opening its doors for the first time next week.

The Foresters Way store opens on January 29 at 8am and to celebrate, golden envelopes containing special tickets to win prizes will be handed out to the first 100 people in the queue on opening day.

Prizes up for grabs include tablet PCs, 24” LED TVs and hampers of Aldi shopping.

The Chapel store, which has created 30 new jobs, is the first of 70 new stores the company plans to open across the UK in 2015.

Aldi store manager Andrew Thom said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming the Chapel community into their brand new Aldi store, and we’re expecting lots of customers for our golden ticket event.”

The Chapel store will be making a donation to Blythe House Hospice and representatives from the hospice will be present at the official opening next Thursday.

The store, which has 93 car parking spaces and will feature around 1,400 product lines, will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
