A new multi-user games area has been officially opened in Peak Forest by the Chairman of the Peak District National Park Authority, Cllr Tony Favell.

The new facility is for the whole community to enjoy, including the school, and is suitable for a variety of sports including tennis, basketball and netball.

Thanks to help from Derbyshire Village Games a range of sporting events were organised and run by Peak Active Sports at the official opening.

As part of the celebrations there was also a barbecue, bouncy castle and live band for people to enjoy.

Funding for the project came from Community Spaces, Groundwork UK, The Big Lottery Fund and High Peak Borough Council.
