MEMBERS of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team will be fundraising in the town centre on bank holiday Monday, May 7.

The team needs to raise £30,000 each year to continue their work and make sure members are properly equipped. As well as a chance to speak to team members, there will also be a search and rescue dog on hand and team vehicles to look around when the team are fundraising in Spring Gardens from 10am to 4pm as part of the Mountain Rescue England and Wales National Awareness Day.

All of the money raised on the day will go to Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, one of the busiest locally and indeed nationally throughout England and Wales.

A book telling the history of mountain rescue in the Peak District, written by two Buxton team members, will be on sale at Clarks on the day for the special price of £10.
