NEW equipment is set to transform a play area for toddlers and juniors at Buxton’s Cote Health Recreation Ground.
Following on from the success of the improvements to the skate park and ball park area, attention will turn to replacing the current play facilities which are dated, broken and consequently under-used.
Contractors are due on site in May to transform the area with a design which includes a zip wire, cone climber, toddler roundabout and slide. New equipment will be installed in the existing toddler area with junior equipment repositioned next to it.
Funding for the project, spearheaded by the Cote Heath Park Users’ Group, has come from: Sita, LaFarge Aggregates, Bingham Trust, County and Borough councillors for the area, a bag pack in Morrisons and the Waitrose Community matters scheme.
The group are grateful to the support from Sally Curley from High Peak Borough Council in helping with the project.
The recreation ground is set to host free sports sessions for kids during the summer holidays.
