Officers from the Hadfield Safer Neighbourhood Team are asking residents to be vigilant and report vandals in the town.

Over recent weeks police have received reports of damage being caused in the area.

Last month, vandals damaged a number of vehicles in Brosscroft Close, Hadfield after running over them. This resulted in several vehicle roofs and bonnets being dented and the wing mirror of one car to be broken.

Most recently, the Safer Neighbourhood team were contacted after the street sign to Mersey Bank Road in Hadfield was rooted and removed from its base. The road sign was subsequently found damaged and discarded further up the street.

PCSO Brian Buller from the Hadfield Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Mindless vandalism such as what we have seen over recent weeks can cause distress to the victims and it will not be tolerated in our community.

“I would urge anyone who may have any information to contact us on 101 to help find those responsible.”

Anyone with information, or who knows of those responsible for causing the damage, is asked to contact PCSO Brian Buller on 101, quoting occurrence number 16000254421.
