A man forced his way into a Glossop home and demanded jewellery from the female occupant.

Police have launched an appeal after the incident yesterday (Wednesday, January 14) in Woodhead Road, Glossop.

A woman answered the door of the property at 10.30pm and the man forced his way in.

A second man later entered the house and the intruders searched the premises before leaving via a back door.

They were seen leaving in a silver car, which may have had smashed windows.
