From dazzling dahlias to sensational scones, judging Disley Show proved a difficult, yet enjoyable, task this year.
About 900 visitors descended on the 107th village fete on Saturday at the Disley Amalgamated Sports Club, organised by the Disley and Lyme Horticultural Society.
In addition to the usual arts, crafts, flowers, fruit and vegetables on display, the pet show and the Disley Diamond Dash fell race, this year included the inaugural WI Bake Off, which was won by Disley.
Lesley Stafford, show secretary’s wife, said: “A great time was had by all. We had a very competitive cricket match which prompted huge cheers from spectators, which added to the atmosphere.
“There was plenty to amuse the children with, who were running round with inflatables they’d won. All the food stalls sold out because we had mouth-watering samosas and delicious afternoon teas and the floral displays were breathtaking. It was marvellous.”
