THE LONDON Marathon is not the only big day Buxton mum Francesca Yates is looking forward to next month.
Francesca, of Granby Road, Fairfield, will be running the Virgin London Marathon on Saturday April 22 in aid of Leukaemia CARE.
And it will be a particularly busy month for the 35-year-old who, aside from training for the gruelling 26-mile run, is getting married on April 7 – after which she is planning to shave her head in aid of the charity during an open day at her workplace, Lasting Impressions in Buxton, on April 19.
Francesca, who has spent years trying to enter the marathon through the ballot system, during which she has shed a remarkable seven stone, said: “I’ve run quite a few half marathons, but this will be the first full marathon.
“The charity I will be raising money for doesn’t seem to be well known, but is very worthwhile.”
