A man remains in a critical condition in hospital following an incident on a farm in Flagg yesterday.
A joint investigation between police and the Health and Safety Executive is underway after the incident, which took place at around 12.40pm yesterday (Thursday).
A spokesperson for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance said: “A 60-year-old male had suffered serious injuries to his chest after a grain hopper, which weighed approximately three tonnes, had rolled over him.”
The man was initially treated by land crew paramedics before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at University Hospital North Staffordshire, less than an hour after the Air Ambulance landed on scene.
Police said they are not treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are continuing.
