Man charged with Glossop assault

POLICE investigating a serious assault on a man in Glossop have charged a man with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 31-year-old man will appear at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court later today (Tuesday, July 17).

The victim, a 37-year-old Glossop man, remains in a critical condition at Tameside Hospital.

The incident took place on High Street East in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 29-year-old man was released on police bail on Sunday pending further enquiries.

A 22-year-old woman, and a 36-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and were released on police bail on Monday pending further enquiries.
