Officers from Chapel and Chinley Safer Neighbourhood Team are looking for volunteers to help take action against speeding drivers in the area.
Following complaints of motorists speeding on Burrfields Road and the Danesway area of Chapel-en-le-Frith, police are looking for residents to help run community speed watch events in the area to target those exceeding the limit.
Volunteers will use equipment which displays the speed of passing motorists and take down details of vehicles that are excessively speeding. The information is fed back to the local neighbourhood policing team so that warning letters are issued to anyone caught speeding in the area.
Anyone interested in joining the scheme is asked to contact PC Crosthwaite or PCSO Green on 101. Alternatively, email the team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Residents in Chapel and Chinley can speak to the team about speeding and other neighbourhood concerns at the upcoming meeting which will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at Rems Bar, on Market Street, from 7pm.
