Stormy weather failed to dampen the spirits of the revellers enjoying Bamford carnival at the weekend.
Saturday’s parade managed to dodge the worst of the downpours, as the procession brought to life the theme of Britain Through the Ages.
After winding its way through the village, the parade ended at the Recreation Ground, where a variety of attractions and entertainment took place for all the family to enjoy.
The 2014 Bamford royalty, Queen Emily Ibbeson, Princess Emma West and Rosebud Cara Thomson, who had been crowned the previous Sunday, welcomed the visiting royalty, and helped hand out prizes.
Committee chair Margaret Tunnicliffe said: “It went really well, a lot better than we expected considering the weather.
“We had a dunking stool which drew quite a few people in, the Ashby big band, and lots of food, drink and entertainment to keep everyone entertained.”
The fun continued on Saturday night with a carnival party at The Angler’s Rest, and a celebration with Bamford Christians Together, and car treasure hunt on Sunday.
Thanks were given to everyone who helped out or supported the carnival.
Committee members are being sought for the carnival, call 01433 651611 if you can help.
