VIDEO AND PICTURES: Hillhead 2016 is biggest show yet

Thousands of visitors from around the world have descended on Buxton for the Hillhead exhibition this week.

By the end of the show tomorrow, Thursday, organisers believe more than 18,000 visitors will have attended the site over three days making it the biggest Hillhead ever.

Show director Richard Bradbury said: “This is such a massive draw for so many people and has once again been a real boost to the local economy as all the guest houses, hotels and restaurants are full up as they cater for the visitors.”

Every two years the quarry in Harpur Hill opens its doors to the biggest names in manufacturing equipment and material processors who gather to network and watch the demonstrations.

Richard said: “I can’t pick one highlight of the show but it is great to work with so many loyal and dedicated people so we can offer a truly unique exhibition which is the biggest in the country.

“This is a working quarry and people can see how things are done and it’s not everyday you get to see dumptrucks, pneumatic drills and crushing equipment in action and for those in the industry it is nice to get together.”

This year there are more stalls than ever before, with 460 exhibitor stands, and four demonstration zones and the showground has been extended and now includes a new outdoor area at the southern end of the site.

The show runs until tomorrow, Thursday. For more information, see here.
