Science was at the heart of a week-long celebration at Buxton Junior School.
Exciting workshops and demonstrations were enjoyed by pupils at the Mosley Road school during their science week.
Bringing science to life were a range of activities, from pond dipping and building bug hotels and bird feeders, to exploring the construction of soundproof booths and earthquake shelters.
The school also welcomed visitors from the Health & Safety Laboratories, University of Derby, Manchester University and Buxton Community School.
Tracy Armstrong, the school’s science co-ordinator, said: “The aim of the week was to promote science and raise awareness of its connection with everyday life.
“The children were certainly much more enthusiastic and into science by the end of the week, and they all had a lot of fun.”
