This year’s pantomime in Glossop has been bringing down the house at the Partington Players Theatre, on Henry Street, every night since Saturday.

Sleeping Beauty, which runs until Saturday at the Henry Street venue, is an enchanting family show combining all the old favourites with some delightful surprises.

Sue Oldham, director, said all eight evening shows and two Saturday matinees had now sold out and the town’s response had been “fantastic”.

“We wanted to do Sleeping Beauty because it’s a panto that Partington has never done been before . We found a brilliant script; it’s really funny,” she added.

Meet Butler Billy and Kitty the Cat as they defy Carabosse the wicked fairy and her feline familiar Spindleshanks to ensure that the lovely Aurora weds her brave Prince.

Written by Ben Crocker and choreographed Megan Elliot, of Glossop’s Ballet Tots and Centre Stage Dance Crew with musical direction from Shaun Penton, the action-packed panto tells a hilarious, magical love story over the course of one hundred and eighteen years.
