Skipping for joy – and healthy hearts

PUPILS at a High Peak school have been skipping with joy after raising money for charity.

Youngsters at Combs Infant School raised 457 for the British Heart Foundation after taking part in a sponsored skipping challenge.

All 24 pupils at the school took part in the sponsored skip, which followed on from work they had done as part of the Take Ten initiative, encouraging children to take part in ten minutes of physical activity each day.

Class teacher Judy Irwin said: "It is just wonderful.

"The generosity of the parents has been brilliant and it was nice because it was the children themselves who decided they wanted to take part."
