Road reopens following vehicle fire in the High Peak

A car was on fire and the road was shut for several hours as emergency services dealt with the blaze.

A Saab travelling along the A6 corridor to Manchester caught fire near Chapel-en-le-Frith this morning, Monday, August 15 at 11.10.

The Highways Agency arrived on the scene at 12.30pm and joined Fire crews from Chapel and New Mills. East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

According to Derbyshire Police there are no known injuries to the driver of the car and the road is now open.
