Residents in Chapel-en-le-Frith are up in arms over plans to close a busy road in the town for up to six months for sewer installation works.

Part of Long Lane is scheduled to be closed from June 16 to December 15 for the work, causing major disruption for local residents who say they were not informed of the works by the developer.

During the work, Long Lane will be closed from the junction with Cromwell Avenue to a point 145 metres south east of its junction with Longmeade Drive. Alternative routes will be in place and Derbyshire County Council say access will be maintained wherever reasonably possible on the affected length of road.
