Police hunt for man who stole a bottle of milk

Officers from the New Mills Safer Neighbourhood Team are asking for the public's help after a man was seen acting suspiciously in the town.

At around 4.40am on Monday, June 27, a man was seen to walk down the driveway of a property along Batemill Road.

He inspected the homeowner’s vehicle before stealing a bottle of milk from the doorstep.

The man was described as being aged in his late 20s to early 30s, with fair hair, a short beard, and carried a ruck sack.

Following the incident, local officers are appealing to any residents who have CCTV in the Batemill area to check their systems between 4.40am and 4.50am on Monday, June 27.
