Police appeal after charity’s vehicles are damaged
Police are appealing for information after vandals struck at a charity which helps elderly and disabled people get out and about.
Three vehicles belonging to Buxton Volunteer Centre were targetted at the weekend – causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.
The vehicles, which included a much-used minibus, had their wing mirrors smashed.
They were put out of use meaning the charity’s big-hearted volunteers had to use their own vehicles to take vulnerable people to community events.
The vehicles were damaged at the town’s Market Street car park.
Officers are investigating the vandalism, which happened sometime between 10.30pm on Friday and 2.30pm on Saturday.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said officers were carrying out enquiries and urged witnesses to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
