Plans to redevelop former Dorma site turned down

Councillors have rejected controversial proposals to create a major new development on highway grounds.

Strong opposition had been voiced locally not to the redevelopment of the former Dorma factory site but to the scale of the proposals accessed via narrow lanes.

The application was for up to 182 homes, 1672 sq metres of business units and a creche, on the site between Chinley and Whitehough.

For full details about the decision made by High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee see Thursday’s Buxton Advertiser.
