Chapel-en-le-Frith Primary School now has its own defibrillator - thanks to a pupil’s mum.

Diane Ellis, whose son Alfie is in year one, entered the school in a competition run by the Hands on Heart charity. And after scooping a gold award, headteacher Trevor Smith said: “Following on from the publicity that the school had about pupil Izzy McCarron saving her father’s life, we are delighted now that we can promote the work of this charity and help keep people safe by having a defibrillator in school with a number of people trained to use it.”
