New projects aim to boost Buxton

Three projects aimed at raising the profile of Buxton are to be launched this week.

Vision Buxton members, local businesses, organisations and residents are invited to attend the launch of the spa town’s new promotional video, logo, toolkit and Visit Buxton website on Thursday (January 16).

Commencing at 5.30pm, the hour-long event at the Pavilion Arts Centre will feature presentations on all three projects, explaining how they will be promoted and benefit the town and its businesses in 2014.

The projects have been supported by Vision Buxton, High Peak Borough Council, Visit Peak District and Derbyshire, The University of Derby Buxton, Waitrose and Vardells.

There will also be an opportunity to catch-up with Vision Buxton members and colleagues over a coffee/drink before and after the presentation.

The new Buxton video and town logo, created by Visit Peak District & Derbyshire and Tilley & Associates respectively, are aimed at attracting more visitors and investors to Buxton, and will be promoted on websites and in local and national marketing campaigns.

Vision Buxton’s Marketing Group has helped develop these and other town marketing projects. Vision Buxton is also responsible for the website www.visitbuxton.co.uk.

Consisting of over 20 Buxton businesses and organisations, the marketing group, co-chaired by Buxton Festival PR Manager Liz Mackenzie and Old Hall Hotel Manager Sally Potter, meets every other month.
