Customers have been assured that it will be “business as usual” for Baseefa Ltd, world leaders in hazardous area product certification, after a change in name.
Baseefa Ltd will be known as SGS Baseefa Ltd, reflecting the fact that it is now a member of the international SGS group of companies.
SGS Baseefa’s General Manager, Ron Sinclair, commented: “The change in name will not affect our customers in any way. All the hazardous area product certificates we issue will still be known as Baseefa certificates, and our IECEx code – BAS – will remain the same.
“Senior Management will not change. Customers’ contacts with us will also remain unchanged, and customers will still be dealing directly with the same certification engineers as they do currently.”
Added benefits from the merger mean that customers can now rely on local representatives throughout the world, explained Ron.
Baseefa Limited has operated as a private company since 2002. Prior to that, it was a part of the government body, the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), based at Harpur Hill, Buxton. It employs over 30 staff and revenue for this year is expected to be £3 million.
SGS is a multi-national company which provides industry-leading inspection, verification, testing and certification services across the world.
