New High Sheriff for Derbyshire

The next High Sheriff of Derbyshire was appointed by the Queen at a meeting of the Privy Council held at Buckingham Palace last week.

Derek Mapp of Barlow, a former chair of Sport England and Deputy Lieutenant for Derbyshire, was appointed for the year 2013/14.

He will take office on April 4. Lady Ruby Sykes, of Hathersage, was appointed High Sheriff of South Yorkshire.
