Almost 75 per cent of people living in Buxton believe crime in the area has stayed the same or increased this year when it has actually fallen, a new survey has shown.

Results from the Over to You consultation event held in the town last month showed that only 24 per cent of respondents believed crime had actually decreased, compared to 40.8 per cent thinking it had stayed the same and 35.2 per cent believing it had increased.

Figures show crime in the area has actually fallen by more than three per cent.
