A GENEROUS Dove Holes pensioner has cooked up pots of cash for charity.
Vera Sheard has raised just over £2,350 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) by making and selling a variety of tasty home-made produce including cheese and onion pies, jams and chutneys, cakes and scones and apple pies.
Big-hearted Vera said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped me raise this money.
“I couldn’t have done it without them.
“I’d like to say a special thank you to Angie, the landlady of the Roebuck in Chapel-en-le-Frith, who helped me a great deal.”
The RNLI has saved at least 140,000 lives at sea since 1824.
Prior to her latest charitable effort, generous Vera raised £1,700 for the Christie Hospital with the same culinary method.
