Ice warning amid cold snap

High Peak residents are being warned to be aware of ice amid the current cold snap.
The Met Office has issued a “be alert” warning and urged residents to take extra care in the freezing conditions.
Snow caused disruption across Buxton and the High Peak yesterday (Friday).
A Met Office spokesman said: “The lying snow and continuing low temperatures mean ice will become a problem.
“The public is advised to take extra care.”
Derbyshire County Council’s gritters have been treating roads and the authority said it may call on volunteer Snow Warderns to help clear routes.
The Met Office is forecasting light snow for the weekend and into the early part of next week.
