A Buxton hotel was magically transformed into a Christmas market to raise over £200 for Chapel-en-le-Frith hospice Blythe House.

Last week’s event at The Old Hall Hotel included various stalls from local traders selling gifts and produce, as well as a raffle featuring prizes such as handmade candles, home accessories and beauty kits.

Sally Burton, Sales and Marketing Manager at the Old Hall, hailed the event, which raised a total of £231, a resounding success.

She said: “We were thrilled to see so many people turn out for a spot of Christmas shopping with us.”

The Christmas charity market is among a number of events held at The Old Hall Hotel in 2013, which have ranged from an evening of mystery and suspense at a Murder Mystery Dinner, to the glitz and glamour of Fashion & Fizz nights.

The latest of these events raised more than £1,000 for the Children’s Air Ambulance.

“Next year, we’ll be hosting many more events and we’re looking forward to inviting everyone along,” added Sally.
