High Sheriff appointed

Former Chief Constable of Derbyshire David Coleman has been appointed as the new High Sheriff of Derbyshire.

Mr Coleman, who was chief constable from 2001 to 2007, will take over from the current High Sheriff Derek Mapp.

He was appointed to the role by the Queen at a meeting of the Privy Council held at Buckingham Palace.
