High Peak sixth formers offered places at Oxbridge

Three High Peak students from King’s School have won offers to Oxbridge, in the school’s best year for earning places at the two prestigious universities.

Anna Townley, 17, of Kettleshulme, who wants to be a research scientist, has an offer to read molecular and cellular biochemistry at Oriel College, Oxford.

Former Buxton Community School pupil Charlotte Harrop, 18, of Buxton, who wants to be a Formula One race engineer, has an offer to read engineering at Queen’s College, Cambridge.

Alex Swift, 17, of Taxal, who wants to travel, has an offer to read history and English literature at Pembroke College, Oxford.
