Help available from advice line
AN service providing free impartial advice services has seen a rise in demand.
The Advice Derbyshire helpline, a lottery funded service, is run by the Citizens Advice Bureau, Chesterfield Law Centre and Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre.
Adviceline Manager, Maxine Pearson said: “We are dealing with a wide range of issues from money and debt issues as Christmas approaches, employment and redundancy, to those who have been turned down for benefits due to the changes to the welfare system as the government introduces the Universal Credit.”
To date more than 7,000 people have been assisted by the service.
For help call Adviceline Derbyshire on 08444 111308. Mobile callers should phone 0300 3300 650. The helpline is open Monday to Friday 10am-2pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8pm. Calls cost just 5p per minute.
