A ladies-only fundraiser at a Disley pub has boosted the coffers of a charity appeal in aid of a former patron.
Staff at The Ploughboy hosted a steamy ‘Almost the Full Monty’ evening earlier this month in aid of Ashgate Hospice.
Pub manager Maria Di Trapani said: “The girls really turned the heat on, raising £175 from their pockets in just three hours.”
The event was part of a fundraising appeal in memory of Mark Leighton, who died of cancer aged 51.
A cheque for £1,112 has already been presented towards the cost of a community bed for cancer sufferers at the Chesterfield hospice, and fundraisers now have their sights set on purchasing a second bed.
