Freeze in council tax is approved

Council tax for High Peak residents is to be frozen for a third consecutive year, councillors agreed last night (Thursday).

Cllr Tim Norton said: “This has been a tough budget but I think it’s a fair budget and a balanced budget.”

At the meeting, councillors also agreed to scrap High Peak Community Housing, and return the management of the borough’s council homes back to the council.
