High Peak parents, grandparents and carers of children under seven can access free parenting support as part of a new scheme.
CANparent classes, which are being trialled in three parts of the country, offer advice and practical tips to help parents feel more confident when bringing up their children.
High Peak CVS, based in Whaley Bridge, is supporting the initiative and working with parents, schools, nurseries and sports groups to promote information about the support available.
Rachel Clark, of CVS, said: “The trial comes to an end at the end of March, so we are working really hard to make sure that people know how to access the sessions and can take advantage of this free support. Parents can now attend more than one course, which is a great, as children change so quickly.”
There are 19 different free group sessions scheduled between now and the end of March across the High Peak, as well as online courses. If you would like to find out more, visit canparent.org.uk, or call CVS on 01663 735350.
