Six years after it closed, Dove Holes Post Office is to re-open at the village’s methodist church on Tuesday.
Full post office services will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9am and 1pm, with an official opening taking place with High Peak MP Andrew Bingham next Friday.
Ken Gibson, from Dove Holes Methodist Church, said: “We have been striving for the re-opening for several months since Peak Dale closed.
“I have been working in conjunction with Tim Boothman at Chapel Post Office, Kerry Tankard - our Circuit Minister - and Andrew Bingham MP on the re-opening at Dove Holes Methodist Church.
“The village was upset and dismayed when the previous government closed the post office in Dove Holes Methodist Church in September 2008. We are pleased to welcome it back in the village after six years.
“This will provide a brilliant service to the village offering a full post office service and opportunities to meet and chat with villagers over a cup of tea or coffee.”
