Dog owners face police crackdown

DOG owners in Furness Vale are being asked to ensure to clean up any mess left behind by their pets following complaints.

Residents spoke to Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale Safer Neighbourhood Team to alert them that some people in Furness Vale are letting their dogs run free near to local farms.

PCSO Tracy Jones said: "There are concerns about the dogs worrying the live stock in some of the fields and that owners are not cleaning up after their dogs.

"I would just like to encourage people to be responsible for their pet, clean up any dog dirt and to keep them on a lead, especially where there are other animals.

"I hope that people will just bear in mind the concerns of other members of the community."

Additional signage will be put up and the number of patrols with the dog wardens increased.
