Disley Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey has been named in a list of the 50 most influential women in British sport.

The cyclist is placed 28th in the chart, which includes heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, former wheelchair racer Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and broadcaster Clare Balding and was compiled by the Guardian to celebrate International Women’s Day on Saturday.

Sarah has five Paralympic gold medals in the pool and a further six on the cycling track, and has collected a total of 22 of all colours, bringing her alongside Tanni Grey Thompson as Britain’s most renowned modern Paralympian.

She married cyclist Barney Storey in 2007 and had their first child, Louisa, last year but returned to competition in December and plans to compete in Rio in 2016.
