The county’s first rail ale trails have been launched online to wet the appitite of real ale–loving ramblers, offering top tips for a great day out.
The Derbyshire Real Ale Trails website features a host of useful information including train times, best ticket prices, opening times of pubs along the rail routes, the number of beers on tap, food and accommodation.
The site offers train–loving tipplers two excursions to choose from.
The first is the Hope Valley trail, which stretches from Sheffield to Chinley, and covers eight stations with 15 pubs along its route.
The second is the Derwent Valley trail, which runs from Derby to Matlock and has eight stations and 17 pubs along the way.
Derbyshire’s trail–blazing tours have been devised by enterprising pals David Parmley, of Tupton, and Rob Gregory, of Chesterfield.
