The countdown is on to this year’s Bakewell Show, which takes place on August 6 and 7.
This year’s event features all the usual much-loved agricultural classes and exhibits that visitors return for every year, as well as some new attractions for 2014.
Returning once again is the popular Equestrian Day on Tuesday August 5, with Horse of the Year qualifiers and open classes. Admission is just £5 with free parking.
Once the two-day agricultural spectacular gets underway on Wednesday, visitors can enjoy a variety of animal contests, show jumping displays, vintage motorbikes, trade stands and more.
On both days, Titan the dancing robot will be keeping the crowds entertained, alongside James Dylan Stuntworld, Storybag 15 minute theatre, mounted games, a grand parade of livestock, a horticulture show, and more.
Even the long-range weather forecast is looking positive.
“This spate of fine weather has made such a difference to the ground,” said Show Manager Janet Bailey. “Our visitors will find it much drier under foot.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming all our visitors for three days of fun in the sun.”
