Con-men target a pensioner

POLICE have appealed for information after two men conned a pensioner in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

The men accepted large sums of money but carried out minimal work in the woman's garden on Crossings Road on Friday morning.

One man was around 20 and tanned while the other man was white and wore a green shirt.

Anyone with information can contact the police on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 1111.

* Firefighters were called to a Portacabin and van fire in Chapel-en-le-Frith on Monday morning.

Chapel-en-le-Frith and New Mills fire services dealt with the blazes on Midland Road at 4:49am.

A fire investigation officer attended the scene.
