Cheers for the beers!
A HIGH Peak real ale enthusiast had cause for celebration when she won a gift voucher for an 18-pint box of Hartington Bitter in a prize draw staged for Buxton Beer Festival.
Catherine Gray, of Peak Dale, who also won a gift voucher donated by Whim Ales, was one of ten prize winners at the festival, organised by High Peak Borough Council as part of the Great Peak District Fair.
The festival showcased northern brewing giant Hyde's plus local microbreweries including Buxton Brewery, Howard Town Brewery, Peak Ales, Thornbridge Brewery and Whim Ales.
Prize draw runner-up Gordon Sleigh, from Buxton, won a nine-pint mini cask of Wild Swan, brewed by Thornbridge Brewery.
Stuart Mills, of Chapel-en-le-Frith and Mr P Easthorpe, of Glossop, won three-bottle presentation packs from Buxton Brewery.
Three-bottle presentation packs from Howard Town Brewery went to Garry Leigh, from Sheffield; Mr G Holmes, of Derby; Ian and Diane Price, from Buxton and Frank Wood, from Dinting.
John Wood, of Castleton won a polo shirt donated by Peak Ales.
"We're most grateful to our local independent breweries for generously donating prizes," added Councillor Tony Kemp, who said the festival helped to promote the Peak's economy.
